Let’s rewind to January of 2019. I was 40 years old, working in financial services — and still afraid to check my own credit report.

On paper, I was making $56,000 a year.
In real life, I had an eviction on my record, credit card debt, and a 17-year-old son depending on me.

I wasn’t irresponsible.
I was overwhelmed — and emotionally exhausted from doing it all on my own.

Even though I worked at a brokerage firm and talked about numbers all day, I had never been taught the emotional side of money. No one told me how much my past, my self-worth, or my fears would affect how I handled my bank account.

So I stopped pretending I had it all together.
And I started where many of us do — scared, tired, but determined to try something different.

The first thing I worked on wasn’t a budget.
It was my mindset.

I had to challenge the story that I was “bad with money.”
I had to believe that I was worthy of stability — even before I felt like I had earned it.
I had to learn that self-trust was just as valuable as savings.

Once I began to heal my mindset, the numbers became easier to face. I used simple zero-based budgeting. I automated bills. I built tiny habits. I adjusted when life happened (and oh — it happened… RIP to my car and phone that year).

This journey didn’t happen overnight. But it made me resilient. It made me intentional. And most importantly, it made me realize that other women needed someone who got it.

That’s why I created The Everyday Woman Money Coach — not for influencers, but for real women who want breathing room in their finances and peace of mind in their daily lives.
